Swagman Manila is located in the Ermita area. Its basically hotel for back packers. Mostly Australian guests frequent this hotel. They offer australian and filipino dishes. The building is quite old but the service is good as if you are at home away from home. The rooms are also good and offers much higher than the regular hotels in the area. The restaurant in the lobby offers buffet breakfast. There is also a function room for group of 50 great for different occasions.

Our family stayed here for one night. Reasonably priced for two double beds and 1 bunk bed, good for 6. The room was spacious enough with a flat screen TV, a desk and a fridge. Air con was good. There was hot water in the shower. It looked a bit old though. The elevator was small and wasn't working all the time. There was a nice bar and restaurant at the lobby and the food was okay. The location is in the heart of Manila which is ideal if you have places to go to within the area.

This hotel is practical when it comes to the cost and location. It is near US Embassy, Robinsons Place Manila, UP Manila, PGH, and many more. Compared to other hotels in the same location, this is a cheaper accommodation. I recommend this for those who have appointments at US Embassy as this is very close to the hotel. They also have free airport transfer every 3 hours starting from I think 12 AM if I'm not mistaken. There are 7 Eleven, Chowking, Jollibee, Mang-inasal, JCO and Mercury Drugstore near the hotel.
