The Peninsula Manila is a landmark accommodation that has been a destination in its own right since opening in 1976. There are few properties in the capital with such a rich and colorful history, where a long list of VIPs have stepped into its imposing, classic lobby—an architectural gem that best exemplifies the city’s glamorous side. Along with extraordinary service, the property features elegant public areas that complement its 469 understated guest rooms infused with “Timeless Filipino” elements like capiz shell, crushed coconut panels and native woods. Dine at exceptional restaurants, like the award-winning French-inspired Old Manila or Spices, offering Southeast Asian cuisine. Indulge in spa treatments and work out at The Peninsula Spa and Fitness Center.
From the moment you pull into the entrance of this beautiful hotel the impressive experience begins. Cars doors are opened, bags are whisked away, you are welcomed and informed of all the facilities available. Our room was upgraded without even having to ask. We were offered a "cocktail" upgrade for a little over $100 NZD which included for two, breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails which included almost a full dinner buffet. well worth the money as we didn't spend any other money on food in the 35 hours we were in Manila. The staff were absolutely faultless, we were so impressed down to the pool attendants that run over to you as soon as you make your way to a seat with extra towels and bottled water and offers of other drinks or snacks if you so desire! All of the facilities are amazing, one of the first questions we were asked at check in was what time our flight left the next day. We had a 7pm flight so we were immediately offered a late check out of 4pm which made all the difference. how fantastic the staff are here. they truly think of everything! will be back for sure!
Peninsula Manila has always been my go.to hotel for years and years already. People are courteous and professional, and sometimes there may be lapses in service when there are holidays but these are understandable. Over all experience has always been nothing but great.
We have been coming to the Pen for 25 years and always feel it's warmth and elegance. The rooms are getting a little tired but the ambiance is the same with the lovely music being played from the mezzanine permeating the lobby. The buffet breakfast is incredible. Many of the hotel staff have been there for years and are wonderful about remembering returning guests. When you walk in the lobby which is a gathering place for locals and newcomers alike you get a wonderful nostalgic feeling. Even with all the newer hotels in Makati the Pen is still really a very special place.
