Check in time was pretty crowded due to the Easter weekend, but staff was accommodating. Room was spacious and clean. Amenities were well maintained. Food was fresh and well prepared both in the restaurant and in room dining. Check out time was a breeze.

We stayed during holy week and as expected there were lots of guests who checked in. But Edsa Shangri-la (ESL) never failed to give their excellent service. As expected HEAT will be full so they prepare an extension for their buffet breakfast at E-bar's and marquee tent for their guests, they also set up entertainment for kids such as magician and balloon twister. I was also delighted that since I have 10,9 & 1 year old kids, they prepare extra bed without charge and without me requesting for it, its ESL initiative and that makes our stay and sleep most comfortable. Our room was always clean by their attentive housekeeping attendants and complimentary drinks were always provided every day. The pool was too crowded but the girl who provided towels and seats for us was so empowered, I did not get her name but I would like to commend her excellent service and hospitality - to ESL kindly give her recognition, she was the girl assigned to the pool area, she's was lean and super energetic and was assigned on Apr 13-14 she keep on giving towels and seats, she did not mind carrying the seats just to serve us. Your irritation due to the busy crowded pool area will be pacify with her gesture and hospitality and it seems she never get tired. For the check in & check out, its fast even the line is long, however I hope there is priority line to mom carrying their kids. But the check in itself is fast since ESL emailed us before hand and everything we needed is already prepared. The bedroom - as stated, I was delighted that extra bed was provided to us, however I just notice that too much feather/fiber were in the comforted that trigger our allergic rhinitis. For kids - ESL is ideal for kids also since they prepared activity for cubbies, though I think it is not suitable for 9 - 10 yrs old kids since they got bored immediately or maybe it depends on the kids interest. Activity is for 5-11yrs old. The other room was for babies and toddlers, but teenagers were staying inside also to relax since their were couches and movie playing inside. They also serve us cakes/pastries as compliments =) Luggage was also no hassle at all, they are fast in collecting your luggages. Lift is also fast even if they cater lot of guest on these days unlike the other hotel we stayed. I will be visiting ESL again for some occasion but definitely not holy week anymore. Its just too crowded.

Decided not to brave a trip outside Metro Manila for the long Easter Holiday. Booked a room at the Horizon Club of the EDSA Shangri-La. The service was excellent, enjoyed tea-time and the cocktails at the Horizons Club Lounge. The ladies and gents who attended to us were exceptionally good. The pool bar service was also above par. The only sour note was the hotel's Italian restaurant, Paparazzi, soggy pizza and salty risotto. The hotel experience as a whole was excellent.
